Celebrating the Season

It’s beginning to look a lot like winter and we’re feeling that sweet, sweet,  let’s go skiing feeling!  One of our favorite ways to get into the spirit of the season is to watch classic ski movies. Yes, Warren Miller is great and TGR makes a great action flick, but we also love to settle down on a cold winters night with 80’s classics like Aspen Extreme and Ski Patrol.  To really get in the mood, we also like to dig through our closets (ok, ok costume boxes. What! You don’t have a costume box?! You must not live in a ski town!) and pull out our favorite one pieces or neon  spandex ski pants.  For the past 2 years Aloha has sponsored ski movie nights with the Park City Film Series to share the joy of bad 80’s hair and acting, and the discomfort 80’s ski wear, with the people of Park City.  Tonight we’ll gather to show off our outdated outfits, laugh, fist pump, whoop and holler while we watch our ski predecessors careen down the slopes of yesteryear and get really, really excited for the resorts to opens!  AND IT’S GOING TO SNOW TONIGHT!   A LOT!

So cheers to traditions and the opening of the resorts.  Let’s start the 2014 -2015 season in style!
