CELEBRATING 25 YEARS IN PARK CITY!

A Park City Morning, Getting to the Slopes

Categories: Uncategorized

The alarm clock goes off at 7:30 am, yes I’m on vacation, but it snowed another 8 inches last night and the countdown is on until the lifts start turning.  I pull on my smartwool socks, before my thermals so there will be no wrinkles or bunching. Add a fleece on top, brush my teeth, then pull on my ski pants and jacket, grab my helmet, goggles, gloves and throw my ski boots over my shoulder and am out the door.

By 8am, I’m walking into one of the best spots in town to grab a quick breakfast, Riverhorse Provisions, located at the top of Main St.  I quickly order a breakfast wrap and cup of coffee to go.  While I wait for my order to come up, I scan the local news and chat with a few others in line.  The stoke is high and excited and everyone is excited to hit slopes.  When my breakfast is ready I head out the door and down to the transit center.  I sip my coffee and eat my wrap on my free bus ride to resort!  I pull up to the resort by 8:30am and head directly into Aloha Ski and Snowboard Rentals.  Since they store my skis overnight and have cubbies to leave my street shoes in, I make a quick switch into my ski boots, grab my skis from the racks and am ready to go.  The ski tech waves a friendly good bye and offers a quick tip on where to head to avoid the crowds.  I thank him for his ski recommendation of Elan Ripsticks, they should be perfect for todays conditions!

I hit the lift line for Crescent and the clock has barely struck 8:50am.  With 10 minutes to go, the mood is jovial and the other early birds jostle and joke!  It’s going to be a great day at Park City Mountain!
